Coon Holler students help earn their school bands winning titles!

Congratulations to these Coon Holler students for helping their competition marching bands bring home winning titles for the 2018 season!

The South Vermillion Marching Wildcats of Clinton brought home a huge win with 1st place at the ISSMC State Competition for Scholastic Class B in Indiana. The Marching Wildcats were one of nineteen bands throughout the state who qualified for the state competition.  Coon Holler students Sarah Davis, Aiden Halterman, Mya Taylor, and Eli Taylor are all members of the SV Marching Wildcats.  For marching band, Sarah and Eli play percussion, Mya plays the mellophone, and Aiden is the drum major. Sarah, Aiden, and Eli are high school sophomores.  Mya is in 7th grade and one of a select few middle school students who play with the high school band.  The Marching Wildcats will be traveling to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy on November 3rd for an exhibition performance and awards presentation.

Just across the state line, the Paris High School Marching Tigers participated in the Illinois Marching Band Championships and brought home a 2nd place trophy for the Class 2A division, along with caption awards for Best Music and Best General Effect.  Coon Holler student, Alayna Whitkanack, plays electric bass and electric acoustic guitar for this year's band competition routine. Former Coon Holler student, Shayleigh Cline, is one of the drum majors for the Paris Marching Tigers.

Congratulations and way to go, kids! We are proud of you!
