Coon Holler Music is owned and operated by Judy Green in rural Clinton, Indiana. She offers traditional bluegrass guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass fiddle, banjo and vocal instruction for all ages. Judy believes music is meant to be shared with others, and her students are encouraged to collaborate with other musicians and perform on stage at a very young age. While developing their musical talents, they are also building social skills, gaining self confidence among their peers and in front of an audience, and most importantly, learning that music can be fun!
Coon Holler Music encompasses several groups that are organized by age, skill level, and performance readiness. They perform year-round at fairs, festivals, churches, and private events. The two showcase groups, The Coon Holler Kids and The Grass Seeds, have become well-known bands in The Wabash Valley. Their performance schedule is usually very busy, especially during festival season, spring through late fall. Please visit our Upcoming Shows page for a performance calendar. Coon Holler Kids is the showcase group of the Coon Holler Music family. It features some of our most experienced young students who demonstrate a high level of dedication and skill, instrumentally and vocally. Many of them have been part of other Coon Holler groups over the years and "graduated" into the Coon Holler Kids with lots of hard work and many hours of practice. The Grass Seeds are a small group of young musicians with a big sound. Their talent is quite impressive for their young ages, and they often share the showcase spotlight with the Coon Holler Kids. If you get a chance to catch one of their shows, you're in for a treat! Some videos of their recent performances are featured on Our Music page.
